BNFL Has a Million Drawings On-line

British Nuclear Fuel’s Sellafield Site had a major challenge managing over 1 million drawings, 30,000 of which were typically updated each year. Obtaining and changing a document could be measured in weeks and days. Cimage Nuclear enabled them to change all that. It radically reduced storage space requirements and made a significant and unexpected saving in the number of prints produced – down by two thirds. Integrated with AutoCAD, it has enabled the designers to reduce the time to make minor drawing changes from days to minutes. BNFL are now putting other important engineering documents on the system, which has over 600 users.
